• Monarhia lagidă. Cotinuitate şi evoluții noi în regalitatea Egiptului antic Obiectivele proiectului: • Lucrarea de față îşi propune cercetarea continuității monarhiei egiptene în conformitate cu noile realități politice ale Orientului de după anul 323 a.Chr., mai precis în contextul lumii hellenistice apărute după moartea lui Alexandru cel Mare. Investigația se va focaliza în principal pe evidențierea elementelor culturale specifice instituției regale egiptene şi pe analiza comparativă a acestora cu cele alogene, de sorginte hellenă. Studiul analitic si comparativ cu privire la caracteristicile monarhiei lagide va avea ca scop şi cercetarea impactului acesteia asupra societății tradiționale egiptene, generat de influența noilor evoluții ale instituției regale. Fundamentarea teoretică (metodologia de cercetare): • Cercetatea istorică a temei menționate porneşte de la relatarea lui Diodor, din Biblioteca istorică, în cartea 18, capitolul 2, care menționează modul cum a fost preluată conducerea Egiptului de către Ptolemaios. Informațiile lui Diodor despre Egiptul hellenistic sunt completate de narațiunile lui Polybios, Titus Livius, Appian, Arrian, Cornelius Nepos, Caesar, Cassius Dio, Iustinus şi Plutarch. Tradiției literare i se adaugă un voluminos material papirologic, strâns cu migală în diverse colecții de către egiptologi. Ipoteze de cercetare: • Plecând de la momentul interacțiunii celor două spații culturale mediteraneene, cel oriental şi cel hellen, lucrarea noastră îşi propune analiza unui model instituțional şi cultural al Egiptului ptolemaic. Acesta poate creiona o imagine de ansamblu a ceea ce a reprezentat instituția faraonică după evenimentele din 323 a.Chr. Tradiția literară ne permite să sesizăm faptul că odată ce Alexandru cel Mare a eliberat Egiptul de sub autoritatea persană, marele rege a pus "prima piatră" la temelia celei mai longevive dinastii non‐egiptene. Regii macedoneni aşezați în scaunul faraonilor au lăsat însă o profundă urmă asupra țării Egiptului, mult mai accentuată în comparație cu oricare dinastie străină anterioară. Cultul dinastiei lagide • Considerații finale Rezultatele anticipate: • În pofida ocupațiilor străine, Egiptul nu şi‐a pierdut identitatea culturală. Societatea egipteană a reuşit, astfel, să‐şi păstreze baza structurală şi să mențină continuitea vechilor tradiții chiar şi la nivel instituțional. În fața conservatorismului şi a ritualismului egiptean, regii lagizi au reuşit să‐şi adapteze ideologia şi să se ascundă în spatele măştii faraonice. Aplicații şi implicații posibile: • Pornind de la cercetarea casei ptolemaice ca factor instituțional, investigația ar putea continua în vederea stabilirii modului în care Egiptul a fost integrat în Imperiul Roman. În acelaşi timp, reacția egiptenilor în stăpânirii imperiale, constituie un subiect cu largi implicații culturale, instituționale şi religioase. Ambele direcții merită, fără nici o îndoială, să fie explorate.
