Sursa principala de poluare (atat in ceea ce priveste cantitatea cat si toxicitatea) este industria. Procesele de obtinere a energiei,

a carei productie a crescut foarte mult, constituie o alta sursa importanta de poluare a atmosferei.

O alta sursa importanta de poluare a aerului, in special in mediul urban o reprezinta transporturile

APA:

Datorita oxigenului, dioxidului de carbon si sarurilor minerale pe care le contine, apa reprezinta si un mediu viu, care da viata solului, florei si faunei.

Modificarea calitatii apelor se datoreaza poluarii fizice (termale), chimice (foarte diverse), biologice (cu virusuri), radioactive si prin degradarea termica.

Poluarea apei este insa legata si de aglomerarile urbane, prin apele de la canalizare, uleiuri arsesi pline de reziduuri produse de industrie si de autovehicule Gruparile de oxizi de azot (NOx), sub forma de gaze degajate de centralele electrice si gazele de esapament ale vehiculelor constituie o sursa de poluare acida (ploile acide)SOLUL:

Solul este supus poluarii ca si celelalte elemente ale mediului

Substantele poluante sunt varsate de om, fie direct asupra solului, fie in apa sau aer, de unde ajung in sol.

unele dintre substantele care polueaza solul sunt: titeiul, substante reziduale, ape poluate, uleiuri minerale, etc. de la diverse instalatii sau substante poluante din deseuri, din gunoaie, din resturi menajere de la marile aglomerari urbane, reziduuri de la fermele zootehnice

diversele substante chimice (ingrasaminte, erbicide, insecticide etc.) utilizate de om in agricultura si silvicultura, administrate in cantitate prea mare RECICLAREA: - explicarea termenului
