    Cursul i propune s ofere o panoram a temelor tragediei greceti, relevnd ritualurile i simbolurile mitice ce motiveaz

    aciunea unor personaje paradigmatice precum Oedip, Oreste, Electra, Medeea, Antigona, Fedra etc. Aceste figuri ilegende sunt apoi urmr ite, ntr- un demers comparatist, n diferitele lor reeemergene n teatrul renascentist i clasic,modern i postmodern. Cursul ofer o perspectiv sintetic asupra defini iei i originilor tragediei grece ti, analizndconceptul de hybris, conceptul de destin, func ia corului antic, conflictul zei-oameni. Sunt analizate, de asemenea, diverseritualuri, sacrificii, purificri, aa cum apar n tragedia greac, precum i elementele oculte adiacente (oracole, ghicitori,incanta ii, vrji). Cursul radiografiaz ciclurile violen ei din tragedia greac, statutul zeilor i al sacrului, precum i variidispute religioase (conflicte ntre culte).

    The course aims to provide a panorama of Greek tragedy themes, emphasizing rituals and mythical symbols whichmotivate the action of such paradigmatic characters as Oedipus, Orestes, Electra, Medea, Antigone, Phedra, etc. Thesefigures and legends are then dwelt upon in a comparative approach in their various re-emergences in the Renaissance andclassical theatre, modern and postmodern theatre. The course aims also to provide a synthetic perspective on the originsand definition of the greek tragedy, analyzing the concept of hybris, the concept of fate, the function of the greek choir, theconflict between gods and men. The course also focuses on different rituals, sacrifices, purifications and occult elementsthat appear in the greek tragedy (like riddles, oracles, incantations, witchcrafts). There is a special insight on the violentcycles of life, the status of gods and of the sacred, different religious disputes (conflicts between cults).
