VAIL-RCM is software tool developed to optimize preventive maintenanceactivities based on Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). In principle,this implies that the maintenance strategy is established on the basis of asystematic evaluation and recommended strategies are based on thecommon experience of the participating organizations taking into account

generic information.

Why VAIL-RCM?

VAIL-RCM software provides RCM analysis, data management andreporting. This software is based on Offshore Reliability Data (OREDA)2002 standards and provides extensive customization capabilities.VAIL-RCM helps the RCM analyst to analyze the RCM on three levels(FMEA/FMECA, risk analysis and Plant Maintenance Routines (PMRs)).

Analysis levels

VAIL-RCM uses the following analysis levels to build upreliability maintenance strategy.

• FMECA Analysis

  It performs Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality

Analysis (FMECA) based on its Inbuilt Database

(OREDA) in an effective and efficient way.

• Operator reliability data

  Includes Operator Reliability Data for each equipment

type based on the Offshore Reliability Data (OREDA)2002 standards.

• Risk matrix analysis

  It identifies, analyzes, treats and monitors risks

associated with each tag and shows this on a Risk

Matrix Form in an effective way that will enable an

organization to minimize losses and maximize its

opportunities. It counts the total number of tags at risk

in each combination of Probability of Failure and

Consequences of Failure.

• PMRs

  VAIL-RCM enables the user to assign Planned

Maintenance Routines for items or tags that have high

or medium risks. It also includes inbuilt feature in the

database to assign a maintainable item list for those

tags or items considered at high risk.
