description

Perspectiva externa

• Implicare la nivel inalt

The participation of Moldova, in the first place, is important for the country's image. Many Europeans do not even know where Moldova is on the map of the continent. Artists are cultural emissaries. Sometimes artists do more than ambassadors and diplomats.

(Timpul 2005)

My God, what applications we received! I do not want to say and I do not even want to know what it will be if we only have these applications. With what are we going to the Eurovision? It will be better to stay home, not making a fool of ourselves, to stay very quiet and to shut up.

(Timpul 2008)

• Dar si critica dura

Who knows if we will also participate in

next year's Eurovision? For campaign

does not happen every year.

(Jurnal de Chisinau 2005)

Arsenium and Natalia Gordienco [the 2006 Moldovan candidates] have obtained a shameful 20th place for Moldova (...) I think that we must ask ourselves more firmly the necessary questions: Ask for example the Minister of Culture, Artur Cozma, but also those who favored the application (...) to end the show and the blat and to resign while recognizing their lack of professionalism.

• La selectia nationala

What have we learned as a result of the national selection «Eurovision 2006 «? We have the same stylist and choreographer for all artists, the jury selected for the final was not aware of the voting procedure, and Moldova is the country of all possibilities, where no rules are respected. (Timpul 2006)

We followed Saturday's Eurovision Moldova final selection. As inevitable, something does not work with Moldovans (...).(Timpul 2006)

At 17, Olia Tira launched her first album (...). She directed her first music video in 2008 for the song «Suflet Bun», with which she intended to go to the Eurovision. She did not win the national selection, but she accompanied the representative of Moldova, Geta Burlacu in Helsinki. The fact that she is fluent in Romanian, although Olia Tira is ethnic Russian, is a good thing.(Jurnal de Chisinau 2010)

I have nothing against Olia Tira. Her song seems successful (...) and she is more than cute. But she must not forget that she is still representing our country in Europe. She sings on behalf of the small country Moldova in Norway (...), what it would be if Olia Tira also spoke Romanian?! Well, well, Moldovan, as it is written in the brochure with the flag on the cover. [In a small film], we see that our dear Tira, at a market in Oslo, is ecstatic and telling us she saw the king and queen. We learn all this, however, in the language of Pushkin. Compared to the language of Eminescu this sucker, «we're not talking “maldavan.” And here we are like that, represented at Oslo in Russian. (...) I hope that at least during the competition, she does not scream “zdrastvuite” but “buna seara!””(Cojocari 2010)

Page 10: Julien danero chisinau 11 octobre 2013

Incredible but true! Representatives at this year's Eurovision (...) do not know the state language. None of the four members of the band deigned to learn Romanian. Both instrumentalists of the band (...) are of Ukrainian origin. For the two years they have been established in Moldova, they have never spoken Romanian. The other two members (...) are Moldovan with their papers in order. They either do not speak the state language, replacing it with... Russian. For a moment all the press conferences on the occasion of the «Eurovision» have become events in Russian, for the reason that neither the group (...), nor Olia Tira or their managers do speak Romanian. They do not know this language and do not want to learn it! (...) If here, it is normal, for those outside, it seems non-sense. Invited in Romania, our representatives made fools of themselves. If Olia Tira could still bind two to three stupid things in Romanian, the others watched the presenters speechless, hiding behind Tira with a smile from ear to ear. The surprise was even greater when we figured out that [the members of the band] speak English with gestures, while Romanian ... zero! Nobody dared to criticize or shame these young people. Are they the only artists who speak Russian in our show business? Shame!

• A fi reprezentat

The Minister Cozma gave a statement in which it was forbidden to foreigners, as if we, Romanians, were strangers. (Jurnal de Chisinau 2006)

Let the Romanian Akcent (...) go represent Moldova at the Eurovision! We have given them: Anna Lesko, O-zone, Pavel Stratan, Alternosfera, and many many other artists. Once all of them have crossed the Prut and forgot to come home, let Akcent be ours.(Moldova Suverana 2006)

• A reprezenta

They will fight to represent the neighbors at the Eurovision and not their country ... We do not even comment.(Moldova Suverana 2008)

• A da si a primi puncte

Teleţigăneală (Jurnal de Chisinau 2005)

Beyond what the Russian effort meant in order to put themselves in front of the world with a sound and light show, (...) if we find a reason to rejoice, it can only be related to the fact that we got 12 points from our brothers in Moldova. And we are equally pleased that the Romanians gave 12 points to Nelly Ciobanu, to the same natural extent, showing that we are made of the same blood, the Moldovan hora is actually the same as the Romanian hora, being at the same time the Union Hora.(Timpul 2009)

Despite political tensions in recent times between the two sides of the Prut, the population of these two states has shown once again solidarity. (...) The big disappointment came from Russia, which gave us one point! One single point?! With all Moldovans working there, we do deserve more? (Jurnal de Chisinau 2009)
