The Vasa Museum is a maritime museumin Stockholm, Sweden. Located on the

Vasa should #e splendid, a hull #uilt of more than a thousand oak trees with $%cannon, masts o"er 7* meters high and hundreds of painted and gilded sculptures.

nce Vasa came out from under the lee of the SBdermalm cliffs, the sails couldcatch the wind, #ut the ship was tender and heeled o"er to port, then heeled again, e"enfarther. -ater rushed in through the open gunports and the ship5s fate was decided. Vasasank, after sailing #arely =** meters.

The crew threw themsel"es into the water or clung to the rigging until rescued,#ut not all managed to sa"e themsel"es. 8yewitnesses differ on the eCact num#ers, #utperhaps =* of approCimately 7* people on #oard died in the loss. fter the ship wasraised in )$, the remains of at least $ people were found.
