Efectul schimbrilor climatice asupra agriculturii

Ca medie, temperaturile globale ncep s creasc datorita activit ii umane, oamenii de

stiinta spunand ca efectele drastice ale schimbrilor climatice continu s produc efecte nntreaga lume.

Unul dintre sectoarele cele mai grav afectate este domeniul agriculturii. Inultimele decenii, condi iile meteorologice extreme cauzate de schimbrile climatice au perturbatproduc ia de alimente la nivel mondial.

"Sistemul alimentar este dea subliniat n mai multe feluri", a declarat profesorul !avinaman#utt$ de la Universitatea din Columbia %ritanic, un expert n materie de securitatealimentar la nivel mondial i a durabilit ii.

Impreuna cu o echipa de cercetatori de la U%C si Universitatea &c'ill, aman#utt$ aconstatat c valurile de cldur extreme i seceta au redus recoltele de cereale la nivel mondial,cum ar fi porumbul, gr(ul i orezul cu )* la sut, ntr+un interval de * de ani.

Impactul persist chiar i n zonele n care agricultura este avansata din punct de vederetehnologic, au spus cercetatorii.

In cadrul studiului, echipa a analizat "efectul de fertilizare", n care un nivel ridicat dedioxid de carbon din atmosfer ar putea avea efecte vizibile asupra culturilor, un efect care arputea mari pagubele provocate de secet i valuri de cldur.

Why I chose to become an agronomist?

Dinishing school is the beginning of the independent life for millions of school leavers.&an$ roads are open to them9 technical schools, institutes and universities. %ut it is not an eas$thing to choose a profession out of more than /*** existing professions in the ;orld. Somepupils follo; the advice of their parents, others cant decide even after leaving school.

Choosing the #ind of career to follo; is probabl$ one of the most important decisions$ou ;ill ever ma#e. %efore $ou ma#e this decision $ou ;ill have to do a lot of thin#ing about;ho $ou are, about the things $ou li#e to do and the things $ou do ;ell. It is an advantage tochoose a future career ;hile at school. It gives a goal to ;or# to;ards and enables to choose aright, suitable course of stud$. ?hen deciding $our future $ou must be realistic about $ourinterests and abilities.

Some people have different goals than others. Some have career goals or some have

ordinar$ ob goals and others have school or academic goals. >ic#ing a career is not as eas$ as itseems. =o some people, pic#ing a ob based on mone$ or a salar$ is ver$ important. =o others,being happ$ ;ith a ob is more important than mone$ but it is not that eas$ to ust ump in to afield of stud$ and not be happ$ ;ith it. I plan to pic# m$ career based on m$ personalit$ and on;hat I reall$ ;ant to get out of a career.

Science and especiall$ more to;ards agronom$ has been m$ area of interest since m$earl$ $ears and I have al;a$s from that time loved to do experiments and observe changes in thisarea. It is also one of the main reasons as to ;h$ I too# up science during m$ high school anddecided to appl$ for the Universit$ of 5gricultural Sciences and eterinar$ &edicine.

Since I ;as a child m$ father sho;ed me the secrets of agriculture and due to the

dedication that al;a$s seems to pic# off as his ;or#, 3ad made me to ;ant to do the same thing;ith as much dedication.

Dor me, this ob is not ust as a decent living, is much more than that. Dor me, to becomean agronomist is a dream that I hope ;ill come true soon. I can not ;ait to focus all m$ attentionto the crops, to devote m$self in it for getting the best productions. It seems to be a ver$interesting feeling and this is the main reason ;h$ I chose to become an agricultural engineer.

Durthermore, agronomists have varied duties that reFuire them to thin# criticall$ to solveproblems. Dirst and foremost, agronomists experiment and plan studies to improve crop $ields.=he$ stud$ a farms crop production in order to discern the best ;a$s to plant, harvest, and

cultivate the plants, regardless of the climate. It is also important for agronomists to developmethods to control ;eeds and pests to #eep crops disease+free. 5ll this duties are fascinating anda good reason for ;anting to promote successfull$ the Universit$ on the 5griculture 3epartment.

5ll in all, for all these reasons and more, I ;ant to become an engineer, but not ust an$agronomist, but a successful one among the most successful ;orld;ide.
