You have read an opinion poll on reality shows in an international magazine. Here is an excerpt:

The problem wi th reality television programmes, in general, i s that they encourage us not to

value our individual pr ivacy. The possibi li ty that, for even a moment, we might not be

immediately available to anyone and everyone via cellular phones, instant messages,

electronic mail services, beepers, pagers, and/or PDAs, seems almost impol i te. (John W. E.)

Reali ty shows arepopular but I wouldntparticipate, as they are in contradicti on with my

values. There are some situations that must remain pri vate. (Diana S.)

I really liked some shows, li ke BB. I t was fun and I learnt a lot. Parti cipants met new people

I dont like allreality shows. I dontlike BB. I think it doesntrespect your privacy and th is is

why I wouldnt participate. Whenyoure an outsider, those momentswhen youre shown in

I n my opinion people accept to take part i n reali ty shows because they want fame. They want

to be known, to be asked for autographs, to be seen on TV. But they don' t reali ze that they are

I would never ever parti cipate in a Reality Show. Why? Because I think theyrestupid and a

total waste of time. You dont learnanything, you dont find out anything interestingor funny.

Those who accept want money, or they li ke being in the spotli ght. Pr ivacy? Some of them even

like showing everything. I guess it alldepends on education(Sabina L .)

You read an article about career planning on a blog specialized in career counseling; here is an

excerpt:

What will be your lifes work? If you havent decided, you are not alone. Career developmentexperts say that far too many people focus on f inding jobs - not a work that wi ll give them

satisfaction f or the rest of their li ves. I t is in the formal school years that one probably also

learns what he/she enjoys doing. Once youre committed to the world of work, understanding

your i nterests and abil iti es, self -knowledge in other words, wil l help you determine in which

direction to sail . Bu t the employment pictur e has changed dramaticall y in the past 20-30 years.

Whi le your grandparentsmaybe even your parentsworked their whole li ves at the same

jobs, future workers cant expect that to be the case for them. Nobodys job is safe anymore,

we hear every day. You may find your self thr own out from work at any time, and it may have

nothing to do with the way you were doing the jobYoure probably going to have to fight

harder to get a job, and youre probably going to have to fight harder to keep it. Or, you may

decide on a new direction, and thats fine. The right to change your career direction is just asimportant as the right to choose it. After all, the process of career planning isnt one that ends

with your first position. Its a process that youll repeatfor the rest of your li fe.
