O hidrocentrala este o centrala electrica folositpentru a transforma energia mecanica produs
de apa n energie electrica.
Tipuri de hidrocentrale
cu o cadere mica de apa - < 15 m, debit mare;
cu o cadere mijlocie - 1550 m, cu debit mijlociu;
cu o cadere mare 502.000 m, cu un debit micde apa.

Generatoare
Tipuri de generatoare:
Generatoare sincrone= masina de curentalternativ la care turatia motorului este egala
cu cea a campului invartitor, indiferent desarcina.
Generatoare asincrone= orice masina decurrent alternativ, care la frecventa data a
retelei, functioneaza cu o turatie variabila cu
sarcina.

Turbine hidraulice
DefinitieO turbinhidraulic este o masina de for care transform energia hidraulica (a apei)
n energie mecanic prin intermediul unui rotor prevzut cu palete.
O turbin este format din:
Stator, n care energia primar (energia potenial n cazul fluidelor incompresibile,respectiv energia internn cazul fluidelor compresibile) este transformat n energiecinetic.
Rotor, format dintr-unul sau mai multe discuri echipate cu palete, discuri fixate pe unarbore, cu care se rotesc solidar.
