The clinical use of blood transfusions persuade us that this treatment methode is not

always harmless

Blood transfusions represent a transplant of liuid li!e tissue reuesting an increased

attention in order to pre!ent and detect early the ad!erse effects related to the blood

transfusions and blood products"

Objective

Material and Method

# retrospecti!e study that too* place in the $egional Institute of %ncology Ia i duringș(& months +("'( -("(&"&'(). by e/tracting from the database of the Transfusion 0nit the

number of blood units transfused, the number of pacients recei!ing blood transfusions and the

number of transfusional e!ents

Results

1e identified a 2&)& blood units and )34( blood products units deli!ered to ('5&

 patients, including 4)5 multiply transfused" 1e recorded -' minor posttransfusional e!ents

and no ma6or transfusional e!ent"

Conclusion

The high freuency of multiply transfused patients imposes cautions before the

transfusion according to patient7s pathology and to his transfusional historic" The

micromethod of compatibility determination is the most important component of security for

the irregular antibodies determination" This way we can pre!ent patient7s immuni8ation and
