Concurs de tâmplărie pentru elevi / Woodworking Contest for Pupils

EdiŃia a 3-a / 3rd Edition Braşov, 25 Mai 2012

Pe data de 25 mai 2012 a avut loc la Universitatea “Transilvania” din Braşov – Facultatea de Ingineria Lemnului a treia ediŃie a concursului de tâmplărie pentru elevii şcolilor şi liceelor de profil din judeŃele Braşov şi Covasna. Ideea acestui concurs a aparut acum trei ani, în cadrul proiectului european FP7 - PRO WOOD, ca o acŃiune menită să strângă legăturile între şcolile, facultatea şi mediul economic de profil din regiune. Şi acŃiunea s-a bucurat de un real succes, astfel încât, atât organizatorii cât şi participanŃii au fost de acord ca evenimentul să fie reluat anual.

La concursul din acest an au participat câte 2 şcoli de profil din fiecare judeŃ, respectiv: Colegiul Tehnic "Simion MehedinŃi" Codlea, Grupul Şcolar Silvic “Dr. Nicolae Rucăreanu” Braşov, Grupul Şcolar “Kos Karoly” din Sf. Gheorghe şi Grupul Şcolar Baraolt-Covasna. Fiecare şcoală a fost reprezentată de câte 1-2 elevi şi un cadru didactic însoŃitor.

The third edition of the woodworking contest destined to pupils from terminal classes of vocational schools with the profile „Manufacturing of wooden products”took place on the 25th May 2012 at the “Transilvania” University of Brasov - the Faculty of Wood Engineering (FIL-UTBv). The idea of this contest came up three years ago in the frame of the FP7 European project PRO WOOD, as an action aiming at increasing the competition between pupils from vocational schools and also to bring closer the enterprises and schools from the wood sector in regions Braşov and Covasna. This action was so successful, that both the organisers and the participants agreed on making it an annual event.

Two schools from each county participated this year at the contest: the Technical College "Simion MehedinŃi" Codlea, the Forestry Vocational School “Dr. Nicolae Rucăreanu” Braşov, the Vocational School “Kos Karoly” Sf.Gheorghe and the Vocational School Baraolt. Each school selected from the terminal classes 1-2 representative pupils in order to participate at the contest.

Concursul a constat dintr-o singură probă practică, de realizare a unei etajere din lemn masiv de fag, după un desen dat. Proba aleasă a vizat testarea aptitudinilor de citire şi interpretare a unui desen tehnic, precum şi a abilităŃilor de prelucrare a lemnului masiv prin operaŃii uzuale (debitare, frezare, burghiere, şlefuire) şi de asamblare a componentelor pentru obŃinerea produsului finit. Timpul (maxim) alocat a fost de 4 ore.

Mai întâi, concurenŃii au fost familiarizaŃi cu atelierul, maşinile, sculele, uneltele şi instrumentele de măsurare puse la dispoziŃie.

Ordinea de intrare în concurs s-a stabilit prin tragere la sorŃi.

Pentru a începe proba, fiecare elev a primit un set de materiale, unelte de mână şi instrumente de măsurat, precum şi desenul tehnic al produsului (perspectiva, vederi, secŃiuni şi detalii).

The contest comprised a single, practical test, consisting of manufacturing a wooden product (a decorative set of shelves made of solid beech wood) according to a given drawing. The task envisaged testing aptitudes of interpreting a technical drawing, as well as solid wood processing abilities through usual operations (size sawing, milling, drilling, sanding) and assembling of the components so as to obtain the finite wooden product. The (maximum) time alloted to perform this task was 4 hours.

First the contestants were acquainted to the faculty workshop, the available machines, tools and devices, hand tools and measuring devices. Afterwards, the pupils draw the lots concerning the entrance order into the competition.

Before starting the time-keeper, each participant received the drawing, a set of materials, hand tools and measuring devices.

În final, fiecare lucrare a fost numerotată

pentru a fi evaluată. Evaluarea preciziei formei, a dimensiunilor, a

calităŃii îmbinărilor şi calităŃii suprafeŃelor s-a făcut de către un juriu format din reprezentanŃi din partea sponsorilor şi a organizatorilor: Dl.ing. Miklos BAGOLY – Preşedinte, ASIMCOV Covasna

Finally, each object was numbered in order to be evaluated.

The evaluation comprised observing the imposed shape and the dimensions accuracy, the joints precisions, as well as the surface quality and it was ensured by a jury formed of representatives of the sponsors and organisers:

În urma centralizării rezultatelor au fost

Premierea câştigătorilor a avut loc în cadrul Târgului de Industria Lemnului şi Exploatări Forestiere – EXPOWOOD 2012, organizat de IMAGELINE şi desfăurat în aceeaşi perioadă la Sala de ExpoziŃii Roman.

Sponsorii, FundaŃia PRO LIGNO, ASIMCOV Covasna şi J.F. FURNIR Braşov, au asigurat premiile în bani pentru câştigători, iar INTARZIA a oferit cadouri tuturor participanŃilor.

The award festivity took place within the International Wood Fair EXPOWOOD 2012, organised within the same period of time in Brasov.

Pentru ediŃia a patra din anul viitor, există

deja semnale de interes din partea mai multor şcoli de profil din regiune, astfel încât organizatorii se aşteaptă ca evenimentul să ia amploare şi să ajungă la vizibilitatea preconizată încă de la lansarea conceptului.

For the next year edition, other schools also

expressed their inteerst to participate and thus enlarge the target beneficiaries. The organisers expect thus this event to gain more visibility, as foreseen when the concept was launched.
