COLECIA FOTOGRAFIE DE EPOC

nc de la nceputurile ptrunderii sale n Romnia (secolul al XIX-lea), fotografia se

aliniaz la tendinele i tehnicile fotografiei europene, dat fiind poziia Romniei n Europa, nspecial bunele relaii cu Frana (ara unde s-a nscut fotografia).

Treptat, se formeaz i ncep s se afirme fotografi valoroi precum: Carol Pop de

Szathmary, Franz Duschek, Franz Mndy, Hestor i Ioan Heck, Emil Fischer, Andreas D.

Reiser, Ludving Anger, Alexandru Bellu, fraii Minovici, Jean Bielig .a.

La sfritul secolului al XIX-lea, aparefotografia de amator(care se diversific treptat

spre genurile consacrate ale artei fotografice: eseu, portret, peisaj /fotografie de cltorie,

reportaj, scen de gen etc.) i apar primele asociaii sau cluburi fotografice, astfel c nperioada interbelic, se contureaz dou tendine: fotografia de amator i profesionist.

Fotografii se constituie n grupuri, cluburi sau asociaii precum: Asociaia Fotografilor

Amatori, Uniunea Fotografilor din Romnia .a. Se organizeaz tot mai multe saloane sau

concursuri de art fotografic n ar i peste hotare. n 1954 ia fiin Asociaia Artitilor

Fotografi din Romnia, cea mai activ federaie din Europa de Est, afiliat la Federaia

Internaional de Art Fotografic (FIAP). Romnia era singura ar est-european care a

organizat, n capital, un salon internaional de art fotografic, sub patronajul FIAP.Coleciile muzeului cuprind fotografii vechi, care acoper o multitudine de genuri

consacrate ale artei fotografice: portret (individual, n grup, al capului, al bustului), peisaj,

fotografie de arhitectur, reportaj etc.) i o multitudine de subiecte (evenimente familiale i

sociale, scene de munc, edificii etc.), realizate de profesioniti sau de amatori. Cartoanele

fotografice menioneaz nume precum: Franz Duschek, Franz Mndy, Allevy, Alfred Brand,

Albert Capelle, B. Athen, Jeahalski, Anatole Magrin, M. Schrbarz, Szllsy, Franz Grainer,

Wilh. Mayr Kreuznach, I. Spirescu, Societatea Amatorilor de Fotografie Bucuresci .a.

Se adaug: plcue fotografice de sticl, anvelope pentru uz fotografic (cu reclame:

Franz Mndy, Agfa, Kodak), fotografii tip carte potal cu personaje din familia regal (din

coleciile A. Brand, Mndy etc.), rame din diverse materiale i albume de fotografii, toate, la

un loc, constituind o arhiv imagistic preioas a memoriei istorice, mrturii ale unui

important domeniu de cultur universal.

VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHY COLLECTION

Since its inception in Romania, in the nineteenth century, photography as has aligned

to the European photo taking trends and techniques, given Romania's position in Europe,

especially its good relations with France, the country where photography was born.

Gradually, valuable photographers started taking shape and assert themselves,

photographers such as: Carol Pop de Szathmary, Franz Duschek,Franz Mndy, Hestor and

Ioan Heck, Emil Fischer, Andreas D. Reiser, Ludving Anger, Alexandru Bellu, Minovici

brothers, Jean Bielig etc.

At the end of the nineteenth century, amateur photographybecame noticeable (which

step by step diversified itself into establishing genres of photographic art: the essay, the

portrait, the landscape / travel photography, documentary, genre scene, etc.) and the first

photographic associations or clubs materialize, therefore in the interwar period, two trends

came into view: amateur and professional photography. Photographers were organised in

groups, clubs and associations such as: Amateur Photographers Association, the Union of

Photographers in Romania etc. They started organizing more and more exhibitions and

photography competitions in the country and abroad. In 1954 it is founded the Art

Photographers Association in Romania, the most active federation in Eastern Europe,

affiliated to theInternational Federation of Photographic Art(FIAP). Romania was the only

Eastern European country that has held, in its capital, an international exhibition of art

photography under the patronage of FIAP. The collections of the museum include old

photographs, covering a multitude of acknowledged photography genres: portrait (individual,

group, head, and torso), landscape, architectural photography, reportage/documentary, etc.),

and a great number of topics (family and social events, work scenes, buildings, etc.) taken by

professionals or amateurs. The photo cards mention names like: Franz Duschek, Franz

Mndy, Allevy, Alfred Brand, Albert Capelle, B. Athen, Jeahalski, Anatole Magrin, M.

Schrbarz, Szllsy, Franz Grainer, Wilh. Mayr Kreuznach, I. Spirescu, Bucharest Amateur

Photography Society etc.

In addition to the items mentioned above, there are: glass photographic plates, photo

wrappers or slipcovers for photographic use (with adverts: Franz Mandy, Agfa, Kodak),

postcard type photographs of the royal family members (collections A. Brand, Mandy etc.),

frames of various materials and photo albums, all of them building up a valuable imaging

archive of historical memory, evidence of an important area of our universal culture.
