Desigur, impresia [i fantezia joac` un rol important.

In my opinion, for us architects, drawing represents that certain spiritual reection, based on intelligence and analysis, beyond any emotional experiences. We seek to distance ourselves from the effect in order to express the meaning of apossible and authentic concept, be it urban, architectural, a landscape or an object, and so on and we do not start fromreason (knowledge) to end with rhyme (emotion). Naturally, impressions and fantasy play an important role. Throughthem, drawing can overturn current order and replace established trains of thought with a new, truly creative order.I believe this happens the moment the rigorous analysis of an architectural subject (urban object, landscape etc.) istransformed into a creative endeavor itself.

The drawings were made a while back, but I rejoiced in feeling once again, while selecting a part othem, that drawing can represent a secondary existence and, together with architecture (the projectcan form a complementary whole. I resisted the temptation to publish them all in one place, againstbetter advisement from friends, and, more importantly, my father. In the yearly study trips, I haveadvised my students from the Ion Mincu University of Architecture and Urbanism to study usingdrawings and sketches. I have found myself among them many times, with my sketchbook in hand, which has always caused me great joy.

We seem to transform in co-authors of architectural objects it is a way of involvement, of consuming apathy andrenewing interest. I have met architects who traveled and understood the essence of architecture, without necessarilybuilding much. They describe it with the feeling and passion of an authentic author. Sometimes, the nuances are evenmore interesting. They capture something of life which is sometimes found in the work of art critics, through redenition. It is why I consider the notion of redening is more suitable and suggestive of this rejuvenation, of bringing valuablearchitectural shapes back from the past and into the contemporary.
