CERCETRI PRIVIND CALITATEA ARBORILOR PE PICIOR SITUAI N LOCALITI, PARCURI I ALINIAMENTE STRADALERESEARCH REGARDING WOOD QUALITY FROM STANDING TREES LOCATED IN THE CITY, PARKS AND STREET ALIGNMENTSCond. t., Doctorand,Prof. univ. dr. ing. CIUBOTARU Arcadie ing. DAVID Elena - CameliaRezumatPrezena arborilor n zonele publice este foarte important, acetia influennd pozitiv calitatea vieii i contribuind la realizarea unui mediu plcut i sntos.

AbstractThe presence of the trees in public areas is very important because they influence positively the human life and contribute to a pleasant and healthy environment. The functions that must meet the trees located into the public areas depend, to a large extent, on the quality and the permanence of the trees. In the environment in which it develops, different from the natural one, the anthropogenic factor has the largest influence.

In this paper, the main objective was to evaluate the quality of the trees from cities, parks and alignments, performed in two directions. The first direction involved a visual analysis of the trees and measurement their biometric characteristics, identify and measure the defects. The second direction involved a comparative analysis between the relative resistance charts and the growing cores taken with Pressler drill; respectively a fractometric analysis of the growing cores.

Defects found were distributed by species and locations, depending on the height at which they were detected, cardinal direction, size and type (eg, the knots were classified as hidden knots, covered, healthy, vicious or rotten knots). The statistical correlations are focused on the diameter influence on the total number of the knots detected on a single tree, respectively on the total area of the detected knots. The comparative analysis was performed at 6 species. The samples were taken from healthy wood and from each type of knot. Subsequently, the growth cores were analyzed with the fractometer and were determined bending angles, breaking angles and breaking moments. With this data were performed the statistical correlations.
