Forward This standard represents the National Annex NA which defines the conditions of application on the territory of Romania of the standard SR EN 1993-1-12:2007 Eurocode 3: Design of steel structures. Part 1-12: Additional rules for the extension of EN 1993 up to steel grades S 700, together with the corrigendum SR EN 1993-1-12:2007/AC:2009. This National Annex has been prepared within the Technical Committee ASRO/CT 343 Basis of the Design and Structural Eurocodes, the secretariat of which is held by ASRO. This National Annex: - provides Nationally Determined Parameters (NDP) for the following clauses of the European Standard EN 1993-1-12:2007 and corrigendum EN 1993-1-12:2007/AC:2009, for which the national choice is allowed, namely:

− 2.1 (5.4.3(1))

− 2.1 (6.2.3(2))

− 2.8 (4.2(2))

SR EN 1993-1-12:2007/NA:2011 and SR EN 1993-1-12:2007 should be used together with the provisions of Eurocodes EN 1990 to EN 1999, after their national endorsement and implementation, together with their national annexes. The names and the numbers of the clauses in the national annex are identical with those of the Romanian standard SR EN 1993-1-12:2007 and corrigendum SR EN 1993-1-12:2007/AC:2009. This National Annex belongs to the patrimoine of ASRO/CT 343, Basis of the Design and Structural Eurocodes.

The grades in Tables 1 and 2 and the nominal values that may be used for their yield strengths and ulti mate strength are recommended for use, provided that the rules in this Part 1.12 are follo wed.

Steel grades specified in Table 1 and 2 are used. Section 2 Additional rules to EN 1993-1-1 to EN 1 993-1-11 2.1 Additional rules to EN 1993-1-1 3.2.2(1) Additional note: NOTE – The limiting values of the ratio fu/fy, the elongation at failure and the ultimate strain εu for steels greater than S460 up to S700 may be defi ned in the National Annex. The following values are recommended:

- fu/fy ≥ 1,05;

- elongation at failure not less than 10%;

- εεεεu ≥ 15fy/E

The recommended values are used. 5.4.3(1) Additional rule: For steels of grades greater than S460 up to S700, the global analysis using non-linear plastic analysis considering partial plastification of memb ers in plastic zones only, applies. NOTE – The National Annex may specify additional ru les for steels according to Tables 1 and 2. Rules for design with FEM are given in Informative Annex C of EN 1993-1-5. Additional rules for steels according to Tables 1 and 2 are not specified. 6.2.3(2) Additional rule: NOTE – The National Annex may specify the value of γγγγM12. The value γγγγM12 = γγγγM2 = 1,25 is recommended. The recommended value γM12 = γM2 = 1,25 is used. 2.8 Additional rules to EN 1993-1-8 4.2(2) Additional rule: For steels with grades greater than S460 up to S700 the filler metal may have lower strength than the base material.

NOTE – The National Annex may give restrictions for the use of such undermatched electrodes.

Electrodes and the welding technology must be chosen in such a way to ensure that the filler metal has a strength at least equal with the base material. Section 3 Additional rules to application parts E N 1993-2 to EN 1993-6 (1) The design rules in the application parts EN 19 93-2 to EN 1993-6 can also be applied to steels with grades greater than S460 up to S700.

NOTE – The National Annex to this Part may limit th e range of applicable grades of steel for EN 1993-2 to EN1993-6.

The range of applicable grades of steel for EN 1993-2 to EN1993-6 is not limited. Romanian standards include necessary provisions for contracting. Provisions are not limitative. Standard users are responsible for its enforcement. It is important that users of Romanian standards ensure they have the latest edition and all changes.
