For Headmaster of Ardgillan Community College,Michael OLeary,

I am writing this letter, hoping that I will be accepted in your college. I think that it would be

the best option for me and my future, because it could make my dream come true. In the

future I also want to attend a prestigious university in Ireland or Great Britain.

I have always liked English. Since elementary school, during my first English class, I have

felt much interest in this subject. I have ambitioned myself, and I have tried hard to improve

my qualities, hopping that someday, I will be able to solve all the mysteries of this language.

And, up to the present stage of my school education, I think I have almost succeeded in my

attempts.

I have been trying to surpass my limits, to discover a little of the secrets of this beautiful

world. I have taken advantage of all the opportunities that may have come into my life and I

consider the final departure to Ireland as one of the biggest challenges that I have ever met.

But I am ready for this stage of my life and I am determined to make my ambitions and

ideals come true.

I have visited Ireland before because a big part of my family already lives there. I can say

that I was very impressed of what I have seen there. And even if the climate is a little bit

different than in my country, I have still felt very well. During my studies, I can stay at my

cousins. They have settled here since 1999, and one of their children, Angel Milici is already

accepted in your College.

I think I will adapt easily, because I am a sociable and optimistic person. I consider having

responsibilities as a necessary element for a successful career. I am trying to be patient in

my school tasks, but I do not neglect my hobbies, because I think that extracurricular

activities are very important. I am keen on practising sports, and I have practised volleyball

for four years. Recently, I have started taking piano lessons, felling attracted by the sweetsound of this instrument. But perhaps, my most constructive and interesting passion is

reading. Each time, I am amazed by the beauty and the multitude of details, created by

human mind.

My literary tastes are varied, and in order to be able to make a more accurate comparison, I

have read a lot of books from different literary genres: from the wonderful adventure novels

of Jules Verne to the successful breath-taking thrillers of Agatha Christie. Because, as

Shakespeare said, The Ignorance is the curse of God; knowledge is the wing wherewith we

fly to heaven.

In these years, I have formed a vision about my future, and about the path I want to follow.

And now I realize the decisive importance of studying in a good school. I am aware of the

value of your College, and I would be honoured to take part in your daily activities, with new

teachers and making friends and I am sure that you will give me the best advice. That is why

I politely ask you to give me the chance of having an interview in March this year. My wish is

to prove to you that I can assimilate new knowledge, living in a different location with another

educational system.

I hope this letter to be reason enough to further analyze my application and Im looking

forward to the interview. I may add that, if you give me this chance, I will surely take it in my

attempt to climb the steps to success.
