Prefaţă

Complexitatea sistemelor de informare actuale impune cadrelor didactice, cercetătorilor, studenților şi de asemenea bibliotecarilor acumularea de noi cunoştințe şi abilități în utilizarea surselor de informare.

Bibliotecarii trebuie să devină experți în ştiința informării. Pentru realizarea acestei misiuni sunt necesare cercetări ştiințifice fundamentale şi aplicative în domeniul ştiințelor informării. Pentru a oferi utilizatorilor informații relevante bibliotecarul navighează în rețelele informatice şi evaluează resursele electronice.

Prezervarea digitală este o problemă vitală pentru societatea informațională, unde cantitatea informației creşte rapid şi unde conținutul devine din ce în ce mai dinamic. Sarcina de bază în digitizarea colecțiilor revine bibliotecilor, în special celor academice.

Bibliotecile digitale organizează colecții cu conținut digital şi le fac disponibile pentru public. Colecțiile pot conține atât materiale care au fost digitizate, cum ar fi copiile digitale ale publicațiilor “fizice”, cât şi materiale bazate pe informații produse original în format digital (digital‐născute).

Multe biblioteci academice se implică activ în crearea Repozitelor Academice (Academic Repositories). Acestea conțin publicații (cărți, manuale, lucrări, teze ş.a), care au fost convertite din mediul fizic în cel digital sau sunt într‐un format digital – născut.

Explorarea rațională a rezultatelor cercetării ştiințifice depinde în primul rând de accesul la aceste rezultate.

Acest principiu a determinat apariția în mediile de cercetare a resurselor cu acces deschis (Open Access Resourse/ Open Archives) în scopul de a promova accesul liber şi gratuit la literatura ştiințifică mondială.

Nucleul principal în sistemul comunicațiilor ştiințifice este revista ştiințifică. În ultimii ani bibliotecile academice sunt nevoite să reducă considerabil numărul revistelor abonate din cauza micşorării bugetului bibliotecilor, cât şi creşterii numărului revistelor specializate şi a prețurilor acestora.

Multe edituri oferă acces la reviste cu text integral cu un indice de impact ridicat. Editura SPRINGER la nivel mondial este a doua mare editură ştiințifică, specializată mai ales pe domeniile tehnic şi medical. Cunoaştere, informație şi calitate sunt cele trei lucruri care modelează activitatea editurii SPRINGER. Marea parte din revistele electronice oferite de această editură sunt contra plată.

La moment UTM beneficiază de accesul liber la multe din revistele platformei SpringerLink. Publicația curentă vă oferă o serie de referințe la reviste electronice din domeniul tehnic, economic şi social, dar accesul la ele poate fi realizat numai din interiorul Universității.

Prin serviciul Online First™aveți acces la numerele revistelor cu mult înainte de a apărea în varianta tiparită, astfel beneficiind de informațiile importante mult mai rapid.

Puteți găsi repozitele multor țări în Registrul Repozitelor Electronice Deschise (ROAR – Registry of Open Access Repositories) unde la moment sunt înregistrate diverse ramuri ale ştiinței şi domenii de activitate practică.

Un alt registru internațional al repozitelor electronice deschise este OpenDOAR – Directory of Open Access Repositories.

Directory of open access journals (DOAJ) conține reviste electronice full‐text din toate domeniile în mai multe limbi, inclusiv in limba română.

Programul NSDL (National Science Digital Library) început în anul 2000, are în prezent peste 200 de proiecte finanțate pentru crearea colecțiilor digitale şi servicii lor publice.

Hindawi Publishing Corporation este o editura comerciala care publică in mare parte reviste academice. Multe din aceste reviste sunt cu Acces Deschis.

Multe resurse cu Acces Deschis pentru comunitatea ştiințifică pot fi găsite pe portalul WorldWideScience (The Global Science Gateway). Acest portal înglobează resurse informaționale ştiințifice din întreaga lume.

Toate referințele la revistele electronice din această publicație la moment sunt cu Acces Deschis, dar politica de acces ar putea să fie schimbată în timp de catre furnizori. Majoritatea resurselor electronice din reteaua Intenet sunt preponderent în limba engleză. Paralel cu extinderea Web‐ului s‐au dezvoltat şi sistemele de traduceri automate. În categoria Dicționare/Translatoare găsiți o serie de instrumente care facilitează înțelegerea textelor. Aveți posibilitatea să consultați online cataloagele electronice ale bibliotecilor din Republică.

Referințele resurselor electronice sunt clasificate pe domenii. Va urma adăugarea de noi domenii şi noi resurse actuale. Modificările ce vor interveni le puteți urmări pe site‐ul bibliotecii UTM http://www.library.utm.md în opțiunea Biblioteca Electronică.

Şi după spusele lui Anton Pann ‐ „Ştiințele sunt uşi, iar cheile lor sunt cercetările”. Acele uşi aşteaptă să fie deschise şi de Dv., stimați studenți şi tineri cercetători.

Tuturor va urăm explorări fructuoase în domeniul ştiinței şi să găsiți cheile potrivite la acele uşi.
